Generally brick-and-mortar businesses do not need special licenses to operate as long as they are in compliance with federal, state, county, and city zoning requirements.

However, businesses that sell or serve alcohol and/or tobacco products will need to ensure they their business is properly zoned, complies with all City codes, and completes an application at the City Clerk's Office which must then be approved by City Council.

Businesses that are doing a remodel or new build out should check with the Building and Planning Department to make sure they have applied for the proper permits, and all updates have been checked to ensure building code compliance.

 

Businesses in the Hinge Redevelopment District should also ensure compliance with the building design requirements.
