Established in 1912, the City of Ralston is a community of 6,500 residents within the Omaha-Metro area. Ralston has a unique local culture of being a smalltown within a metropolitan area.
Ralston is home to over 50 locally-owned businesses, an independent school district, the Hinge Creative Art District, and the Liberty First Federal Credit Union Arena which hosts a variety of concerts and events throughout the year as well as serves as the home of the Lancer Hockey and Omaha Beef Indoor Football teams.
The City hosts an annual Independence Day Celebration inclusive of a parade, community activities, and a large fireworks show that attracts over 40,000 people to the city. ​
Ralston also opens the holiday season with its annual Holiday Magic Tree Lighting Festival. The festival includes a visit from Santa, carriage rides, family activities at the Baright Public Library, and a chili feed hosted by the Ralston Fire and Rescue.
The City of Ralston's Downtown/Hinge Master Plan highlights a number of new development priorities including Hillcrest redevelopment and the Burlington Street extension/redevelopment.
